Anatomical Neutral Posture

Setup Positioning

  1. Have client stand on a sheet of paper (Letter or A4) with feet parallel with large toe positioned just on the edge of the front edge of the paper approximately 6 inches apart to start with.
  2. Palpate the tip of the ASIS.
  3. Place fingertip one inch medial to the tip of the ASIS.
  4. Using a plumb line align the point on the pelvis to the mid point of the talus joint, moving the foot medially or laterally to obtain alignment.
  5. Using a marker draw the outline of the medial side of the foot then write the client’s name and date on the sheet. This is used for when future testing is performed.
