Bodyweight Distribution Assessment

The bodyweight distribution assessment is not an absolute but rather a conformation assessment that when combined with other assessments can but used for conformation of both the overall results of the assessment and to monitor progress.

Two calibrated scales are positioned side by side and place the postural foot positioning template created as demonstrated in the videos, centered on the two scales. Then have the individual stand with one foot on each scales positioned in alignment with the template.

The Assessment:

Making the template for use with dual scales

Weight Distribution:

1. Difference 0-4kg (0-8lbs) within normal parameters for an individual average weight (Lewit). This may need to be adjusted for individuals outside of average weight.
2. Difference Greater then 4kg (8lbs) is indicative of postural distortion.

If there is an uneven distribution of weight and a true leg length discrepancy is suspected (with the Leg Length Discrepancy Assessment) then further conformation can be assessed by using the appropriate lift under the short leg (Ensure the scaled is zeroed with the lift on the scale as not to include the weight of the lift).

Careful observation of the arch height should also be noted to ensure both arches are at the same height and preferably at normal height.
